30th December 2015: Operation: Eisenfaust – Legacy New Year’s Eve Pack released
Only two months after the Halloween set, Team Raycast once again offers an expansion pack to ‘Operation: Eisenfaust – Legacy’. This time it celebrates Christmas and New Year’s Eve. 3 new levels are featured. Quite a fun experience, the last set of 2015 rings out the old and in the new.


24th December 2015: Return to Totenhaus released
Woolie Wool (Executor) has released ‘Return to Totenhaus’, an ECWolf mod inspired by Laz Rojas’ original Mac scenario. Many new graphics and sounds are featured, making for quite a realistic atmosphere.


21st December 2015: Wolf Overdrive released
Thomas Weiling has released his 20th mod, ‘Wolf Overdrive’. The set features 48 levels (including 8 secret levels) and small changes to graphics, sounds and music very much retaining the original style. Coding by Andy Nonymous.


29th November 2015: Twilight: Escape from Stalliongrad released
AdamMasterArt has released ‘Twilight: Escape from Stalliongrad’. An ECWolf mod, it features 10 levels that were all created by Havoc, Brian Lowe or BJ Rowan. The audiovisual atmosphere comes from the My Little Pony universe. Listed as a beta.


21st November 2015: Operation Serpent released
Woolie Wool (Executor) has released his brand new project ‘Operation Serpent’. The first true ECWolf total conversion, the set features 8 levels and tons of new graphics, sounds and features. The storyline takes place in 1980’s Latin America but has a World War II connection. Also features a unique soundtrack composed specifically for the mod, taking its cue from 1980’s speed/thrash metal scene. A most impressive effort.


30th October 2015: Operation Eisenfaust: Legacy Halloween Pack released
Team Raycast has released a Halloween pack of last year’s ‘Operation: Eisenfaust: Legacy’. 4 new levels are featured, and the many new sounds and graphics depict a true-to-life Halloween atmosphere with plenty of pumpkins and candy!


24th October 2015: Hell on Wolfenstein released
Here’s something found on ModDB. No new maps are featured, but the audiovisual atmosphere invokes DOOM. An ECWolf set, it is listed as an alpha.


20th October 2015: Unfinished Business released
Majik Monkee has returned! His latest project, ‘Unfinished Business’, a part of the ‘Operation: Mutant Strike’ series, features 5 levels that were all made by ack. New graphics and sounds are also included. A quite atmospheric set, available both in DOS and SDL.


30th September 2015: The Virtue of Procrastination released
Ronwolf1705 has released his mapset ‘The Virtue of Procrastination’. Originally released as a 10-level demo in June, this is the final version with 30 levels, replacing the first three episodes. Mapping is somewhat experimental but quite clever and enjoyable. Needs registered Wolfenstein 3D to play.


13th September 2015: Spear of Life released
Wolf3DGuy has released his first mod, ‘Spear of Life’. Based on Spear of Destiny, it features 22 levels and coding changes include textured floors and ceilings, the addition of Read This!, different enemy behavior and there are also many new graphics. Keep an eye out for the now multiple-framed patrolling and mortal Pac-Man ghosts! Quite an enjoyable set.


13th September 2015: Armageddon 2 announced
Officer-Michael John has announced his sixth mod, ‘Armageddon 2’. It will be a sequel to the old Barry Christian mod ‘Armageddon’ from 1999. Current progress:

23rd August 2015: The Legend of the Holy Grail updated
Wolfrost has finished ‘The Legend of the Holy Grail’ complete with a new SDL EXE, based on Spear. Coding changes now include increased ammo rate, in-game messages and gun bobbing. Sounds, music and graphics have also been changed since its initial release in March 2014 as a 6-level unfinished project. 10 levels are now featured, one of which is a secret level.


14th August 2015: Beyond Wolfenstein SDL released
Officer-Michael John has released his SDL port of Nate Smith’s legendary 1999 set ‘Beyond Wolfenstein’. It was one of the earliest sets to alter the source code, including the addition of separate ammo for select weapons and increased health and ammo. Michael John has added some minor changes to maps and other small audiovisual tweaks, but otherwise the port is true to form. Updated 22nd December 2015.


10th August 2015: Guns and Glory 0.5: The Story Retold v1.5 released
Ian Summerfield has released the final version of a mod that had originally been released way back in 2007 – Guns and Glory. This release is based upon the 2012 sequel, ‘Guns and Glory 0.5: The Story Retold’ and it now features 40 levels and many coding changes such as multiple textured floors and ceilings, a redesigned status bar, different enemy behavior, new sounds and music and countless other changes. A visually intriguing and quite extensive set.


25th July 2015: DieHard Wolfers Lost Episodes Mapset released
The DieHard Wolfers team have released a mapset for the Spear of Destiny mission packs, also known as ‘The Lost Episodes’. In the works since October 2014, eleven different mappers contributed, including Ronwolf1705, Dean, Serpens, Ipank7000, Gerolf, Executor, Fraggeur, AlumiuN and Thomas. Some minor coding changes are featured, mainly changing ceiling- and floor colors. Quite a varied and interesting set.


18th July 2015: Wolf 3D Funny April 1st Day released
Officer-Michael John has released a beta of ‘Wolf 3D Funny April 1st Day’. A humorous set, some funny graphics have been added. Coding changes include extra added objects, new weapons, increased ammo and changes to music order and ceiling colors. Updated 22nd May 2016.


4th July 2015: Independence Day VSWAP released
Officer-Michael John has released a VSWAP file that celebrates the 4th of July. Some new graphics are featured, making for a festive setting. No new maps are featured. Later updated in July 2017 with the addition of a new map.


29th June 2015: Astrostein (Spifferaneous Edition) for ECWolf released
AstroCreep has ported Spifferaneous’ 1999 set ‘Astrostein’ to ECWolf. Based on an older Mac scenario, this port also includes material from older versions of ‘Astrostein’. A very atmospheric set.


22nd June 2015: Wolfenstein 3-D Magyarítás released
TheKKKNo2 and Szemi have released ‘Wolfenstein 3-D Magyarítás’ (Wolfenstein 3D Hungarian Translation). All text in the menu, status bar and even warning signs on the textures have been translated to Hungarian. Similar to 2004’s ‘Wolf3D in Icelandic’ in terms of its outline, this particular release nevertheless comes with a brand new SDL EXE. No new maps are featured.


18th June 2015: Ipank7000’s Mapset #2 released
Ipank7000 has released his sixth add-on, ‘Ipank7000’s Mapset #2’. As the title indicates the set replaces all 60 maps, most of which are quite extensive and true to the original style. The only changes to the code are the addition of an extra digit in the score section on the status bar and the display of more than 99 minutes once an episode has been completed. Updated 22nd June 2015.


18th June 2015: Wolf Mission 2 SDL released
Officer-Michael John has ported Nate Smith’s 1998 set ‘Wolfenstein: Mission 2’ (aka Wolfm2) to SDL. Coding changes include increasing the number of static objects and enemies, adding an extra digit to the score section on the status bar and numerous other small details such as the addition of the ammo box from Spear of Destiny. Some of the maps have also been retouched.


17th May 2015: Sokobanned released
Ronwolf1705 has released ‘Sokobanned’ for SDL. A puzzle mod, 8 levels are featured and the gameplay is quite different from most mods. Some of the features include:

-BJ has no weapons
-Log files you can read. Press SPACE while standing next to them.
-Barrels and Oil Drums are pushable objects. Press SPACE to push these.
-Pushable objects can only be pushed 3 times.
-Pushable objects, like pushwalls, can’t be pushed over dead guards.
-Pushwalls kill live guards
-Pushwalls can be pushed infinitely


12th May 2015: Life on the Streets Episode 2 released
Racquetball1987 has released the second episode to the 2011 mod ‘Life on the Streets’. Far removed from Wolfenstein 3D and World War II, the setting is instead urban and inspired by hip-hop and games such as Grand Theft Auto. Many coding changes are featured, with the more impressive being 3D directional block objects, multiple textured floors and ceilings, a totally redesigned menu and countless new sounds and graphics – and it’s all in DOS!


7th May 2015: Project: Weltuntergang’s Manouvre Beta released
Officer-Michael John has released a beta version of ‘Project: Weltuntergang’s Manouvre’. Based on Kuki’s 2002 mod, the set includes changed sounds and graphics, though some of the original mapping remains intact – like Episodes 5 and 6. The remaining episodes have new maps placed in various spots, with some of them being lifted from other mods. DOS only. Updated 22nd July 2017.


6th May 2015: Wolfenstein 3D Part 2: Rise of the Triad released
Thandor has released v1.0 of ‘Wolfenstein 3D Part 2: Rise of the Triad’. Taking its cue from ‘Rise of the Triad’, many new graphics and sounds are featured adding to the atmosphere. 10 levels are featured. A DOS mod, coding changes include textured floors and ceilings, redesigned menu, a different status bar and 3D directional sprites. A visually intriguing set.


5th May 2015: The Golden Parrot announced
Fraggeur has announced ‘The Golden Parrot’, the first Wolf3D mod to use a pirate/nautical setting. Judging from the screenshots, it looks like a really promising mod.


18th April 2015: Spear Revisited for ECWolf released
Woolie Wool (Executor) has released an ECWolf port for his 2007 set ‘Spear Revisited’. The newly added features include PCM music in Opus format (similar to Ogg Vorbis but more efficient) and enhanced boss difficulty. That aside, it is mostly a straight port without any audiovisual revisions.


16th April 2015: The Adventure of Himmler SS released
Officer-Michael John has released ‘The Adventure of Himmler SS’. The mod is based on Ling Yan Li’s 2005 mod ‘Resurrection of Heimzahlung’, and features an audiovisual atmosphere greatly influenced by the mod. 38 levels are featured, some of which include secret as well as super secret levels. The many coding changes include different palette, in-game messages, extra added weapons, many extra added enemies, armor, different enemy behavior, seamless level flow, four keys and a host of other features. New music is also featured. DOS only.


11th February 2015: WOLFPAK 2 released
AstroCreep has released the second volume of the ECWolf set ‘WOLFPAK’. This time, 13 different sets are featured with some minor editing in terms of elevator exits, bosses and other small bugfixes. The sets date as far back as 1992 (‘new11’) and as recent as 2006 (‘SGE’). Also including more obscure sets such as Bryan Banfield’s ‘Raid on Wolfenstein’ and De Zeurkous’ ‘ZW1 – Phase One’, the set sheds new light on these classic-styled maps.


9th February 2015: Drawn and Quartered SDL released
Ringman’s ‘Drawn and Quartered’ has been converted to SDL by Andy Nonymous. This was another set from the ‘mod in a week’ series. The 3 levels are of a fair size and well decorated. The graphics and sounds are virtually all new and as can be seen from the pics give a distinct cartoon feel.


8th February 2015: VSWAPED 1.0 released
VSWAPED 1.0 is an editor for VSWAP files and a development of Wolfenpack which it replaces. Walls, sprites and sounds can be replaced in the VSWAP file of practically any game derived from Wolfenstein3D or Spear of Destiny.


30th January 2015: Mutant Blobs from Uranus 3D SDL released
Ringman’s ‘Mutant Blobs from Uranus 3D’ is now available in SDL. This fun mod has 3 levels that are quite large and well designed. The first level has a necessary key hidden behind a pushwall. Virtually everything has been replaced, including the graphics, sounds/music and there’s also new helpart and ceiling/floor colours. It all blends together quite well. Dugtrio17 and Adam Biser also contributed. SDL conversion by Andy Nonymous. Updated 6th February 2015.


24th January 2015: Victory of Faith released
Thomas Weiling has released his first new project in more than two years, called ‘Victory of Faith.’ It’s a 60 level mod with the 6 episodes in chronological order, featuring new music, sounds, sprites and textures, plus Thomas’ excellent mapping, yet the original Wolf3D feel is retained. Coding changes by Andy Nonymous. Updated 25th January 2015.


19th January 2015: The Lost Missions – Trilogy released
Formerly known as ‘Mapset’, ‘The Lost Missions’ is a 3-episode 27-level Wolf3d mod by ronwolf1705. Inspired by BJ Rowan, Gary Ragland and WSJ’s older mods (among others), as well as the original Wolf3D, this mod contains three missions that vary quite a bit in terms of environments. The game contains many features, among them shootable objects, directional sprites, weather effects, and night sky. Updated 21st January 2015.


16th January 2015: Nocturnal – iLOW3D released
Ipank700 has released his fifth mod, ‘Nocturnal – iLOW3d’, a sequel to his previous mod called ‘Trilogy – iLOW3D.’ Again, there are 30 levels in a 3-episode format, which requires completion of the first 3 levels to unlock the next episode. Includes features like new enemies, weapons, and objects. Updated 27th January 2015.


13th January 2015: Project: Vertilgung Demo SDL released
Officer-Michael John has converted the demo version of ‘Project: Vertilgung’ by Zach Higgins to SDL. This single-episode 10-level set differs significantly from the full version Zach later made with James Ingham. This version has well designed levels and a lot of graphics and sound changes.


13th January 2015: WOLFPAK released
AstroCreep has released an ECWolf set called ‘WOLFPAK’ which collects most of the maps he made between 1998 and 2006 for the mods ‘Gorenstein’, ‘Gorenstein 2: The Attack of Josef Hitler’, ‘Heil Hitler!!!’ and ‘SamWolf’. The maps blend together quite well and the original atmosphere is definitely felt.


9th January 2015: ECWolf version 1.3.1 released
Blzut3 has released the latest version of his advanced source port of Wolf3d/SoD based on Wolf4SDL. The new version adds support for sampled music formats and tracker music (Opus, Vorbis, FLAC, everything supported by Mikmod), auto map can be panned with the mouse, saves can be deleted from the menu, Android is supported, and more.
