Currently, the game is scheduled to have 13 levels, but this may change. The Punisher will seek justice in four different missions, each divided into three different levels each, on a mission to face off with the Kingpin himself in a final stage. Right now, there is no projected release date, but work will begin in earnest after ‘Halls of Stonehenge’ is completed.

The ‘Gotterdammerung’ TC released last week does not play on all computers. It seems to play ok on Windows ME, but not always on Windows 98.
There’s been a lot of correspondence on this at DieHard Wolfers on Areyep.com forums (in the ‘Gotterdammerung Finished At Last’ section). Someone has posted a fix there too.
3rd August 2003: Southern Hell released
Here’s another TC from Ian Summerfield with 21 levels, cartoon type graphics and new sounds. Virtually all images have been replaced. New title screens too. Uses the ‘Spear Resurrection’ code as a base. The Hitler Armour is sometimes shootable!

2nd August 2003: Info on Cleopatra
TexZK’s next TC project will be ‘Cleopatra’. Here’s an outline of the story: You are Caesar and the Egyptians don’t want you as their Emperor, so they want to kidnap your wife, Cleopatra. Meanwhile some Romans want to do the same and you must face them, too. You will also adventure into pyramids and tombs; those are rebels’ bunkers. Here you’ll face mummies.

The screenshot you can see shows the very first textures I made (three wall textures and a floor) – don’t worry about weapons and other graphics: it’s because Cleopatra comes directly from TexZK’s story. In fact, there will be new weapons like swords, TRUE bows (this means that they will be fire arrows, like rocket launcher fires missiles), spears and more. I’d like to introduce some RPG elements like accuracy (hits/shots), strength (for weapons carried) and more. To display them all I will reduce fonts on the status bar (or I’ll try to do it).
I want to edit Wolf3D’s palette a bit, but I haven’t got Jasc Paint Shop Pro, so I had to make a program to convert from RIFF palette to Jasc palette. The attached ZIP file contains Asymetrix® BitEdit and PalEdit (for who hasn’t got Jasc PSP), jpal2bin from DarkOne (to convert from Jasc PSP palette to GAMEPAL.OBJ) and my riff2jpal. There’s riff2jpal source in the archive, and it’s under GNU license.

- Plus whatever else we can come up with!…
So far, design is in the most primitive stages. No levels have been started yet (my least favorite part!) and if any brave soul would be interested in contributing there, let me know. This is a SOD conversion, and ideally, I’m after 18 levels. Also, I am looking for some help with coding (to be posted in the Artist Archive). . While vacationing in England, BJ is sent on a dangerous mission into previously undiscovered catacombs beneath the Stonehenge monument, in an effort to locate and destroy an inter-dimensional portal used by the ancient druids, and now the Nazis themselves…
Currently, the only planned coding change is the addition of the optional crosshair when firing, so I’m not sure yet if it’s going to be a TC or an add on yet. Things are going well, though, and it should be ready for initial release soon. Thanks.“

16th June 2003: Secrets of the Grauburg Dungeons released

“In ten days, on May the 18th of 2003, it’s time for a first beta test of our revolutionary Wolfenstein 3D editor ChaosEdit, which will also support other games based on this engine like Blake Stone and Corridor 7.
Here’s a small feature list:
- Normal map editing with up to 500 maps
- 3D-Editor for adding details in the texture structure of the map (uses game graphics; you can run through your map and give walls textures with your mouse by clicking on the walls
- Wall texture, sprite and graphics editor (including automatic color format conversions)
- Font editor
- Sound editor (including automatic sample and bit rate conversions to Wolf format)
- Quit screen editor
The first beta test, we’re about to start, will focus on the map editor part (including the 3D-Editor), so the other editors won’t let you edit anything, but will let you view the stuff so far.
But we still need beta testers, who can support us with detailed bug reports of any bugs they find and give us suggestions to make things better.
So if you’re interested, please send an email containing your system-configuration (video mode, screen size and color mode, Windows version, processor and memory (RAM)) to chaosware@lycos.de.
Thanks
Ripper”

1st May 2003: TexZK’s Story released
I just received this TC today and haven’t played it all yet. So far it looks pretty good. It’s by TexZK and there are 4 episodes (not sure how many levels yet). There are many good effects using ceiling/floor textures and falling rain/snow etc. For me, the falling snow on the episode 4 opening level works especially well. The menu is in Italian, but is basically the same one as in the original game. (For yes, press ‘s’ for si – no is still the same ‘n’).

23rd April 2003: Wolf3D Shareware VGA Version
Chris Chokan sent me this pre 1.0 version of shareware Wolf3D. It’s interesting in that several of the objects and portraits are not as developed as in the 1.0 version. There are also some differences in the maps, especially level 10. There are some bugs – the pushwall action is weird and you can’t access level 10 from the secret elevator in level 1 (though it’s on a supplied saved game). Also, I played it in Windows 98 and had to reboot when I finished the game (due to a problem with sound). There’s a ‘read this’ option from the menu and Chris has added his comments to this!

Here’s an alternative vswap for the full Spear set. Ideal for Spear sets that have no new graphics.

17th April 2003: BJ’s Last Mission released
This add-on is the first by George Warren. There are 60 mostly new levels. Many of the graphics are from Spear and some I’ve not seen before. The devil ‘statue’ now moves around! Mostly it all blends together quite well, though there are odd walls that look out of place at times.

Here’s a pic Wes DesJardins sent me. It’s from his upcoming TC ‘Wolfenstein: Resurrection’.

14th April 2003: Iraqi Blitzkrieg update

![]()
Message from Scheissgeist:
“Anyone who would like to contribute to the project should e-mail me at stnmarsh@aol.com with the subject line “Iraqi Blitzkrieg.” Please note that this project does not favor either side of the pro-war/anti-war argument, because politics should stay out of fun.
–Scheissgeist “
14th April 2003: New project
Here’s an email from Joe concerning his new project:
“A friend of mine, Seth, and I have started coding and graphical work on a new project. One which is still unnamed as of yet. In this project, I will be doing most of the code work and some of the mapping, while Seth does the artwork and the rest of the map works.
I’d like to inform you that Assault on Castle Totenhammer is NOT canceled as one may have expected if I’m working on a new project.
On the subject of AoT, I have been working some more on the code. I said I’d stop, but I really don’t like making maps. So, I have done a few improvements on the AI. Usually there is that pesky made noise thing in the code that guards react to. Well, that’s still there, but there are a few modifications. Like if you’re using the knife or Sten and a guard spots you, he, instead of the usual sound, produces a sound that shows he was unprepared or caught off guard, and does not alert other guards. But if the player is using an unsilenced weapon, then he makes a normal sound and alerts other guards. That’s just one of the several things I’ve done.
I also added a ‘poison’ status. If the player walks over a pool of some sort of poisonous stuff (loss of creative wording there..) the player will become poisoned. In this state, the player looses a certain amount of health at certain intervals of time until he locates a medical kit.
There are other ‘cool’ things coming yet, so I’ll continue to keep you posted. -Joe- “
13th April 2003: Star Warstein 3D/more pics

This month’s Dome award goes to Wolf Skevos-Jones for ‘Operation: Heimzahlung’. Once again, Wolf has produced an add-on combining good level design with good graphics, sounds, and code changes. While the game has a gigantesque “work in progress” – feeling to it, we think it definitely deserves the award.

Codetech has fixed a small bug in his Project Manager program (which was first released Mar 12).

The SS will now be StormTroopers carrying stormtrooper laser rifles. The new Bosses will be Boba Fett, Jabba the Hutt, Stormtrooper General in a Robot and of course Darth Vadar. Below are pictures of the stormtrooper laser rifle and the Light Dagger (to replace the knife).

10th April 2003: JJStein: Resurrection/new version posted
There are 3 more levels (now 6), plus a number of new graphics including the landmines. Two levels were made with the creator program but they’ve since been edited. The secret level has many bosses but there’s lots of health/ammo. By JJ. This version replaces the one previously available.

9th April 2003: WinWolf3D project
Here’s an email received from Adam Biser concerning his WinWolf3D Project:
“Hello, I just wanted to announce my WinWolf3D project, a Windows port of the Wolf3D source. One of the features I’m trying to implement is the ability to change images, sounds, maps, and music easily by using scripts (probably) that tell WinWolf3D to use a given BMP (or whatever) instead of the regular image. The project’s web page is at http://winwolf3d.tripod.com.
Along with the port will be a data editor. It is still in a very early stage, right now it’s only a data viewer. There’s a chance it will have some bugs, but it’s there for people to try it. There’s no ability to import or edit yet, but that should be coming along soon.
Thanks,
Adam Biser“
8th April 2003: NDV (Nazi’s Death Valley) Demo released

Two good levels for the Spear Demo by Wes DesJardins. Mostly original graphics but there’s one different actor. Needs the Spear demo to play.

8th April 2003: Wolf3D mod news
Here’s an email received from Scheissgeist:
“My name is Scheissgeist and I’m working on my first Wolf 3D mod. It’s an arcade-ish take on the current situation U.S., British, Australian, Polish, and other coalition troops in Iraq are handling.
As a coalition soldier, your mission is to eliminate a group of Iraqi generals (all real life generals, including the infamous “Chemical Ali”) as well as Saddam Hussein himself and liberate Iraq, or whatever. Here’s the thing – I need help:
- Texture/sprite artists
- Someone who can take MIDI files I write and make them into MUS files compatible with Wolf 3D
- A source code hacker
- Maybe a level design guy
I don’t have a website yet, but I’m looking into one. I want this to be a fun, innovative project that maintains the feel of Wolf 3-D, only with a Gulf War flair.
–Scheissgeist“
7th April 2003: Fraggerstein 3D released
A fun add-on by Topfragger. There are four new levels on episode one, plus one each on episodes two/three. The levels are mostly small and not very well detailed, but there are many new fun type graphics. Episode three has a Santa boss and penguins! Episode two boss Homer Simpson is shown below.

6th April 2003: Wolfenstein: Resurrection pics
Wes DesJardins has sent a set of pics from his upcoming TC ‘ Wolfenstein: Resurrection’.
You can see the whole set here.

6th April 2003: Mattewolf 3D released
Here’s the first of three sets being released by Matte Software that were made before ‘Wolfen-terror’. There are 9 new levels with a mix of old and new graphics, but the original Wolf3D ‘feel’ remains. The secret level is not new, but you can access it from level 3. Levels 2, 4 and 5 have large outdoor sections.

6th April 2003: Assault on Castle Totenhammer update
Here’s an email I received from Joe concerning his latest project:
“Well, Assault on Castle Totenhammer is coming along extensively well. In all this time, mostly I’ve only been doing code-work. Only a few levels have been finished off, but I do believe the coding is somewhat more important. Here’s a list of changes from the original Wolf:
- New weapon, silenced sten SMG
- New ammo type for weapon #4
- 3 episodes consisting of 20 levels
- Rocket Infantry, Flame Thrower Infantry
- Chaingunners (ORIGINAL graphics this time on the chain-gunner. Heh) (They don’t use or drop chainguns, but they fire like Hans, Gretel or Tranz)
- New music. Not much new music: only two or three songs. One from Spear
- New helpart and endarts
- Random guard-spotting and guard-death sounds
- Changed roof/floor colors.
- You don’t obtain a lower weapon with a higher one
- New cheats – Invisibility, Infinite Ammo, and no-clipping from Spear!
Finally, and this is a big useful one! OK, you have full ammo and an MP40, and you happen to walk over another MP40 on the ground. Of course, you take it. No longer does that happen. I have two ways of preventing that: Not only do you have to hold the use key to grab items, but it will only pick up guns if you actually need it.
A nice sized list, eh? And this is just the beginning… Actually, I’m nearly through with coding. Really, I’m just going to work on maps from here. I’ve only completed 5 (!!!) maps! Hopefully I’ll manage to get out a demo before too long. This time, I really mean it. I would have included some pics, but I decided against it. I’d like this to be a bit of a ‘see for yourself’ thing.
Thanks, -Joe- “
6th April 2003: Davidstein released
Here are 60 new levels with original graphics. There are many bosses, but a lot of health/ammo too. Because the levels are made by the creator program, it’s not being added to our lists. However, I’ve mentioned it here for those who want a complete add-on collection. You can get it from the ‘files’ section at addonklub.

28th March 2003: TRTD v0.8 Beta updated
Following a complaint about the status bar on the version released March 6, Executor has now issued a new version of ‘TRTD – (The Road To Despair)’. It features a stylish-looking status bar based on the original ‘Project Totengraeber’ one and the pistol from ‘Blake Stone: Planet Strike’ (resized). Requires a copy of Totengraeber II to play. This replaces the version issued March 6.

25th March 2003: Verdammt Software new member
Alex Brosseau has joined Verdammt Software as a 2nd programmer.
24th March 2003: Kaboom Industries
Kaboom Industries (started by Crash Man) is making a game called “Hans’ Revenge.” The story goes that Hans Gross finds out about the death of his brother, Tranz, and goes on a rampage, killing all enemy soldiers in his way. He soon finds out about the death of his sister, Gretel, which enrages him further. He has one main enemy to kill now, BJ Blaskowitz… Crash Man points out that he does not support Nazism in any way, he’s just tired of hearing “good luck bj” and “only you can stop them Blaskowitz” on every mod. The title screen is shown below.

24th March 2003: New Verdammt Software site
Here’s more news from James Ingham:
“The new Verdammt Software site will be up soon, I think Friday… I’ll post the link up in a few days.
p.s. – we are still looking for a sound and music designer person :p
– James“

22nd March 2003: Operation: Aliens cancelled
Alien Software have cancelled ‘Operation:Aliens’ and are now concentrating on ‘Project: Falconhammer’.
22nd March 2003: Operation: Heimzahlung released

The third release by Wolf Skevos-Jones is ‘Operation: Heimzahlung’. There are 22 levels, plus lots of graphics, sounds and source code changes. The levels look good, though I’ve only played 3 thus far and the actor sounds are particularly effective. The helpart is also done well. The title screen is shown below, but there are a number of other pics here.

ps – on some levels there are guards that cannot be killed. It’s suggested that silent weapons are used on these levels so as not to alert the guards. For more info on this see ‘Read This’ page 26.
19th March 2003: Mazedude’s page
Mazedude has made several remixes for Doom music and now he’s made one for Wolf3D. It’s called ‘Wolfenstein 3D – Nazi Requiem’ and it’s available at Mazedude’s Page. Look in Remixes. Be aware though, the file is a hefty 6.16Mb! The music is sad, but aggressive (it says something like that on the website) but it sure sounds good. It lasts 4 mins – 29 secs.
18th March 2003: Alien Software
David Cookson has joined the ‘Alien Software’ team. He’ll be helping out with the graphics. Also from ‘Alien Software’ – news that Op: Aliens will be out this month and Project: Falconhammer will be out next month.

16th March 2003: Alien Software
Alex Brosseau tells me The Alien Fan has joined the Alien Software’s team.
Here’s some more news from James Ingham:
“The Wolfenstein Galaxy has been down for a while and will be up soon (well not down but not updated…).
Zach and I are making a website for Verdammt Software and it will have a similar style to the wolfgalaxy. And when we have more time, the wolf galaxy should be back…
Also, Verdammt Software are looking for a music creator, we need someone who can record music into the correct files for wolfenstein. BTW does anyone know how to do this? Thanks.
– James“
James’s email is now at ingomania_182@yahoo.co.uk.
15th March 2003: Fraggerstein 3D
Topfragger emailed me a zip of this TC but unfortunately it doesn’t work. The size of the zip was only 489Kb. It was supposed to include a new vswap so I suspect the file was not wholly sent. If Topfragger reads this please try sending the file again. Meanwhile here’s the title screen.

15th March 2003: Stained Titan email
Tris received the following email from Stained Titan:
“Hi, I’ve teamed up with StormBringer to do Acid Rain. Together we will deliver a Spear of Destiny add-on boasting 10 levels. Acid Rain will come soon!“

As many will already know, the Dome Forums have been down since Friday last. I have received this message from Tris:

12th March 2003: DieHard Wolfers move
The ‘DieHard Wolfers’ Club has now moved to a new location at DieHard Wolfers on Areyep.com. The old Yahoo Club will remain as an archive.

12th March 2003: Project Manager 1.0
Codetech has sent a utility called Project Manager 1.0. It creates directories and batch (.bat) files for creating easy source backups and testing your project. You can also keep your project directory well organized.
9th March 2003: CFDB utility/project info
Codetech sent me a CFDB (Check Free Databytes) utility. Made with Qbasic 4.5, it checks available databytes from your project’s source directory. Instructions for use are included in the zip.
He also sent me the following email:
“I have a few announcements to make – First of all, Haunted House is still up and running. It hasn’t been cancelled. Allthough we haven’t worked on it for a long time, Haunted House will be revamped completely. The demo wasn’t exactly the game we wanted Haunted House to be, so we’ll start it all over again.
Secondly I announce a new project (the name hasn’t been decided yet), but here’s a short summary of it’s features:
- Enemies hearing system completely rewritten (No more made noise)
- Enemies get help even during combat if needed
- Enemies reload their weapons (They hide to do so)
- Reloadable weapons (As in Haunted House), but this time more optimised and better code
- Exploding barrels (Can be carried)
- Guards react on dead bodies
- Dead bodies can be carried
- Player has 15+ authentic WWII weapons (USA/GERMAN)
- Disguises and Id cards (Enemies will take a close look at you every once in a while)
- Vehicle(s) Can be ridden by enemies and player
- Stationary MG42’s can be used by enemies and player
- Textured ceiling/floor
- Highly improved AI
- Flame thrower (Flames spread!/Enemies burn!)
- Extremely interactive environment
– I might have forgotten something, but chew on that for a while… Many more features will be implemented for the final release.
Features list is long and they are also easy to implement, memory might be an issue though. Currently I have about 1500 databytes left.
This project is due to be released at Summer 2003. (I sure hope so at least).
Ps. If someone needs to send us e-mail tommi.aijala@luukku.com, please use a title that can be easily separated from those annoying spam messages. For example – Haunted House, Hi Codetech or Hi Megabyte.
-Thank you!“
9th March 2003: Stained Titan
Based in Holland, Stained Titan is currently making an add-on for Spear of Destiny entitled “Acid Rain”. It’ll feature 7 new levels, some basic code changes and new graphics. The game centers around level design and thus concentrates on atmospherical design.
8th March 2003: Project: Infiltrate released
Here’s a 3 level set that Zach Higgins made before ‘Project: Vertilgung’. It was thought to be lost until I came across it on my hard drive. It’s interesting as it has similarities in some aspects to the later set. Please read Zach’s text file before playing.

8th March 2003: Wolfsite updated
Guillermo Buteler’s site has recently been updated. It will change again on Sunday to include a NDV demo and news about his brother Santiago’s new project. It’s at Wolfsite.
6th March 2003: TRTD v0.8 released
Executor’s new beta of TRTD v0.8 (The Road To Despair), contains 29 levels — 27 normal levels and 2 secret ones. The graphics are vastly altered. You might not recognize a few of the levels because of altered graphics! Requires a copy of Totengraeber II to play. This set has since been updated following a dispute involving the status bar.

Executor also sent some teaser shots of the final chapter in the Megastein series, The Final Assault. You can see them here:
There are 33 guards in this hallway that rings around a square buildings. The player just barged in without flushing the guards out first and is about to die a quick death.

What did I tell you about barging into rooms like that? Not only is this place swarming with guards, officers are going to jump out of their cubicles and join the fray.

“Ve’re under attack, you ingrate! Get over here! Schnell, schnell!”
“Vat? Do you really zink somezing could happen to us here? It’s not like zat Amerikaner Richard Reid vould burst in and massacre us vhile ve’re eating.”

–Executor

18th February 2003: Projekt Vertilgung update
Here’s a message from James Ingham regarding ‘Projekt Vertilgung’ :
“Zach released PV and said there won’t be a phase II. The version he released also had a few bugs in. I’m going to finish the project while he works on others…
Firstly I’m currently (in my spare time) making Projekt Vertilgung V1.1 which is basically the same but a few new features in the levels/bugs fixed/secret levels go to the right place/etc… maybe new music and I might change the graphics for the miniguns cause I dont like the ones at the moment.
There will also be in the download a new manual in html format which I think is quite good (I’m 50% done on it). I will also update the readme in the game and I might finish the .bat file which was included but I don’t think stories and items in that are necessary. I will send some screen shots in soon and tell you about new updates…“
Thanks James for the above info, good to hear from you again.

13th February 2003: The Golden Episodes released
Here’s a message from Ariel Castañares concerning his latest add-on release:
“Greetings to you all, people from the community, keepers of the wolfy flame. Today I am releasing ‘Wolfenstein 3-D – The Golden Episodes’, an add-on which I worked on during a long time. Its development did consume a very big part of my spare time, but it took a lot of other people’s too, who directly contributed in the making of the game. The set as it is now would have never been possible if it hadn’t been for them, but also for others who indirectly contributed, by letting me use their own add-ons’ work inside my game.
These people know who I am talking about, but for those of you who haven’t been following my set’s development, there is a credits section inside the game where you can find out who these great wolfers are.
I’ve had a lot of fun while making this add-on. I really hope you all have fun too while playing it. It is all yours. And please, don’t you doubt for a second and write me an e-mail if you feel like giving me your opinion on the game, asking something, or whatever; I’ll be happy to read anything concerning the set. My current e-mail address is spaceraker@hotmail.com.
Nothing left to say, thanks a lot for reading up to here. I leave you now to Brian’s comment. Take care!
Norberto Ariel Castañares.“
Thanks Ariel for the message. ‘The Golden Episodes’ has 60 well designed levels with lots of cool graphics and sounds changes. There are many source code changes too and I particularly like the text messages at the start of each episode. A lot of effort has been put into this set.

There are several more here:

6th February 2003: Best of BJ info/pics
Daniel (dugtrio17) has sent me details of his upcoming TC, which will probably be called ‘Best Of BJ’:
“It features 9 weapons, tons of new enemies, an armor feature (not in the screen shots), a feature where you can press M and use a portable medkit (holding up to 10 at a time) to get 5 health, a pickup silencer, breakable objects, exploding barrels, and a feature soon to be implemented where medics revive dead enemies… Not to mention a neat surprise that happens occasionally with mutants… mum’s the word on that one :)… It will be episode based, with the player never having all 9 weapons at once.
The weapons are: (1-4 same), 5 is a silent sniper rifle and will be story-related (which, strangely works better at long ranges than from up close. Intentional, of course), 6 is a Gatling Rifle type weapon, which is based on an actual weapon, 7 is a pressure rifle (also story related) that fires shots that can pierce multiple enemies, 8 is a missile launcher (which will, once again, be strangely story-related), and last, but not least, is my one and only brand new, original flamethrower. It actually shoots a stream of flames and hits enemies that get in the stream. It also features some nice new art (seen in the screen shots).
The armor feature has now also been implemented, but I can’t send screen shots of that because I am in the process of rearranging the status bar. It is based on a tutorial in the Dome, but with MANY modifications and complications. For example, when attacked by a flamethrower guard, you lose a lot of armor.
– dugtrio17“
There’s a lot more pics here.

1st February 2003: Flames or rockets?
Here’s an email I received fromTexZK:
“Hello, Brian!
I am TexZK, a young programmer of Wolfenstein 3D. I’m only 14 years old so I’m not a good programmer, but I have an idea. Programmers with more experience than me (like DarkOne) can create new weapons: the rocket launcher and the flamethrower. I think they can create weapons like them, so I want to ask you if you can publish this e-mail. I tried to compile a modified code with these weapons, but I haven’t got the right experience and there were a lot of mistakes.
In my opinion it’s a great idea: why have got only weapons with direct shoot? Shall we have a weapon with flames or rockets?
I hope to find an answer,
TexZK“
Comments, anyone? TexZK’s email is gnegno88@libero.it.
30th January 2003: Blake Evolution released
Johnathan has released his first add-on. It’s called ‘Blake Evolution’ and uses the Blake Stone sounds and graphics set converted to Wolf3D by Andy Nonymous. Kyle Fisher has released ‘Schabbs 9000’. There are 5 levels, plus a whole host of Doom type graphics and sounds. New title screen, plus new helpart/endart files. I did the last 3 levels.

Most Wolf3D fans who’ve upgraded to WinXP tell me they can play the game but without the sounds. There is a site which specializes in problems running DOS games under WinXP. It’s at DOS Games Under XP.
18th January 2003: Sport Woooolf released
Agnieszka has released ‘Sport Woooolf’. Each of the first 5 episodes has either 2 or 3 levels. There’s a wide range of level designs which on the whole are pretty good. There are a number of graphics and sounds changes, but the atmosphere of the original game remains.

18th January 2003: Assault on Castle Totenhammer update
For the latest news on this upcoming TC by Joe Robinson –
Well, that TC I said I would be working on is coming along well. This time I will not do quite as much coding. I thought perhaps I would go towards the realism scene.
First, I decided B. J. didn’t have pocket space for more than 30 bullets, so the limit is now 30. No steroids or anything that gets your health above 100. It seems ridiculous now that I look back. Guns of the same type, make the same sound. Like an SS shoots his gun and makes a predictable sound. Your MP40, however, makes the same sound. A little thing ID left out.
If my history is correct, SS wore black, not blue, so they are now dressed accordingly. The officers in the original wore white. I don’t like white clothes, so they are now in a dark gray suit. Also, the SS drop their MP40s and chaingunners drop their chainguns. If you already have full ammo and a copy of that weapon, you won’t pick it up. This is one of those little things that is so great that no one thinks to do. Am I truly the first?
In this set, you are, as normal, B. J. Here’s a description of the story:
It’s January 1945. You have been assigned to assist the Russians as they draw closer to Berlin. One of the Soviet scientists, a Doctor Pepper, has been captured and imprisoned in a castle recently constructed slightly northeast of Berlin known as Castle Totenhammer. (I believe that means Death Hammer. I request that you tell me if that’s wrong.) Doctor Pepper is critical to the Soviets because he was working on the development of a new armor to apply to their tanks. This very armor is what will turn the tide in favor of the Soviets while they push for Germany. You are to make your way into Totenhammer, find Doctor Pepper, and find your way out again.

As of yet, I have made no new maps except for a test level to test progress. The sourcing is coming along well as may be obvious. I included the title screen as the first taste of what’s to come. A demo should be out before too long. Cross your fingers, and hopefully I won’t lose my code this time. -Joe-

13th January 2003: Escape from Totenhaus released
Here’s another Mac conversion from Laz Rojas. Originally released on the Mac in 1996, it’s now available for PC users. There’s 10 very good levels (first episode) and a lot of new graphics and sounds. Needs the full version of Wolf3D to play.

11th January 2003: New Revival of Memories site
Our ROM (Revival Of Memories) project now has a new site. There’s lots of info about the project, plus a large number of pics. It’s at Revival Of Memories Site.

9th January 2003: SST cancelled/new project announced
Due to difficulties in getting action from the big screen into Wolf3D, ‘The Alien Fan’ has cancelled SST (StarShip Trooper) and announced a new project called ‘ColonialMarines’. There’s info about the project (along with a set of 8 pics) here.
While watching several SciFi movies (ironically SST being one of them) I came across another adventure I would like to take… I’m very “very proud” as Doctor Wren of Alien Resurrection put it… OF what I have accomplished…
I introduce ColonialMarines: The Second Encounter… Based solely in the Aliens Universe you take control as a U.S.C.M.C marine and are ordered with your squad to Lv534. When you arrive your squad is killed… You awake only to find a pistol and many dead marine buddies… You reach an elevator and take it down to the next floor…
ColonialMarines has the following enhancements to the Wolf engine:
- New Textures
- New Sounds
- New Code (for monsters) and… Altered Code (for weapons)
- Textured Floors and Ceilings
- Elite Group Of Maps (6 to 7 maps spanning from the top level of the colony down to the abyss of the hive)
I am removing music because I can’t add in new music. (My comp bugs out when I use the progs.)
Weapons:
- Fist
- 9mm H&k vp70
- M41a PulseRifle
- M56 SmartGun (Let’s Rock baby!!!)
Enemies:
- Adult Aliens
- Chestbursters
- Facehuggers
- The Queen (biggest bitch of em all…)
Also, the eggs pods will be “around”, but I dont think Wolf3d can be coded to handle Idle, hatch, death stuff that the egg needs… Nor do I have the patience to code that in…
Here are some pics: (Note these pictures are takin in “NewWolf” The final product WILL vary..)

8th January 2003: Zach’s upcoming TC pic
Zach Higgins’ next TC will be called ‘If’. Here’s a pic from it he sent me.

5th January 2003: News page back online
Our apologies to all for the delay in getting this page back online. And a belated Happy New Year to everyone. Unfortunately, the revamp of the Dome is taking far longer than expected (we estimate Jan 22) but in the meantime the news page is back up. Those wanting add-ons/source code info etc. can still find them at my other site Mr. Lowe’s Wolf3D Page.

5th January 2003: Raw Meat 3 update
Ryan Steinbruner tells me ‘Raw Meat 3’ is coming out soon. There’s a whole new code, 16 levels and all new weapons, including the plasma bolt! A new level called the crypt will have lots of zombies and dead aliens! Help is wanted for some parts of the project.
