31st December 2004: Orb Of Disarray Update

Richard Kelly’s Spear Of Destiny add-on will now be a TC instead. The TC will be called ‘Orb of Disarray’ until further notice. Richard is still open to other suggestions for a title. Here are the changes that Richard plans to make to the game:

  • Pad-locked doors – You need to get four pieces of a component to open up this type of door
  • Use of the “Robo-Imp” by Ian Summerfield, and the green-suited SS by Mr Wolf
  • New sounds, and Digitized sound effects in the menus
  • New status bar graphics
  • Pictures of the weapons you use
  • 225 maximum ammo capacity
  • New music. Includes music from Duke Nukem II and Biomenace. At least three of the new tunes will be composed by Yours Truly
  • Commentaries on the upper left of the screen.
  • Maybe … Ceiling and floor textures

There’s a couple of screenshots to show the changes made so far. Note that the storyline has one of BJ’s enemies put out a reward for our hero’s death!

29th December 2004: Operation: Mutant Strike 2 Update

Majik Monkee sent me the following update: “Here is a promotional banner for “Operation: Mutant Strike 2”, the nearly completed project by Monkeeworks Software (comprised of Majik Monkee and whichever talented individuals happen to be assisting at the time). The project is nearly finished, and has many new features the first game did not. For those of you not familiar with the original “Operation: Mutant Strike”.

Mutant Strike 2 should be completed and ready for release within a few days, though I will be out of town on vacation, so release may be slightly delayed. This project has had some very talented contributors, and should be a very good mod when completed. Full credits will be included with the game when it is released (some contributors wish to remain anonymous until then).

There are prizes for cool graphics, first place will be all the graphics I have ever made, a phobia list, and a game known as stress relief. Second prize is stress relief. Third is the phobia list. The entrees will be accepted no later than Dec. 18th and the winners will be announced on Dec. 20th.

All entrees will be kept. This contest is only for looks, so as you would imagine I don’t need full sets, single frames will be preferred. Here’s an email from Togo: “Hi Wolfers! There won’t be a ‘Kill the Gezis’. It’s too advanced for me right now. But I will make an addon called ‘Abandon’ with 60 levels based on the registered game, probably with new sounds and music.

– Togo

Dumscheissekopf has released ‘Operation: Mutant Strike’. It has ten levels (no secret level), many changed graphics, some changed music, and several coding changes. 3rd October 2004: Resident Evil Released

Kyo Kusanagi has released ‘Resident Evil’. There are 18 consecutive seamless levels that are mostly quite well made though a few are not that extensive. Graphics are partly from HOS, partly from the original Wolf 3D and there are some that I’ve not seen before. Changed sounds and music. There’s quite a mixture here but it seems to blend together well.

2nd October 2004: DOSBox Version 0.62 Released

SourceForge has released version 0.62 of ‘DOSBox’, a DOS emulator for Windows. This version is compatible with more Dos games than earlier versions, has many extra features, and a better playing speed. On my Windows ME computer, which is far from top of the range, I can now play Wolf 3D games at a reasonable playing speed and have all the sounds and music!!

30th September 2004: Operation: Eisenkrieg Final Version Released

Here’s the final version released by Sandy of ‘Operation: Eisenkrieg’. There are now 8 levels which are designed well but not that extensive. Lots of graphics changes though most of them I’ve seen elsewhere. Changed sounds and some minor code changes like new ceiling colours and increased health/ammo. The Wolf 3D feel still remains. This version replaces the 5 level demo issued Sept 10.

28th September 2004: The Rise Of Jason v3.0 Released

Kyo Kusanagi has released version 3.0 of ‘The Rise Of Jason’. Changes since version 2.5 (released Sept 15) include extra levels (all 60 are now done), extra weapons and new music. There’s also gun bobbing, new weapons, changed ceiling colours, menu screen colours, status bar and some cheats that were done in earlier versions. Apart from a few menu spelling errors this is easily the best set that Kyo has made so far. Credit also goes to Mr. Wolf, who drew some weapons by hand. This replaces the earlier version 2.5 which was issued Sept 15.

27th September 2004: Monster Bash 3-D Update

Here’s an update and some screenshots from ‘Monster Bash 3-D’, sent in by Ryan Steinbruner. Though near to completion, Ryan tells me the game is planned to be released in December this year, giving Adam Biser and himself plenty of time to get the game running smoothly. There will be 3 episodes with 10 levels each. The first episode will have a castle theme, the second a swamp, and the third will have a snow theme.

24th September 2004: Operation: Nacht Rose Updated

Lucky Foot’s ‘Operation: Nacht Rose’ has been updated due to a mapping error found on episode 2 – level 4 (no exit elevator). For more info on this set, please see Aug 28 news items.

21st September 2004: Paderborn Released

Lakota Bucksnort has released ‘Paderborn’. There are 15 seamless levels which are designed well and are quite complex. There’s a mix of original Wolf3D/Spear graphics plus some newer graphics and it all fits together well. It’s quite a difficult set to play at times with lots of action.

21st September 2004: Call To Code Editors

Here’s an email from Kev Reid: ” -Call to Code editors. I have an idea that I have been mulling over for some time now, not knowing if it would work or if it was even possible. As such I have made no attempt at the following: Here is a challenge to coders who have some experience with the music aspect of Wolf. Would it be possible to, instead of, loop a sample out of VSWAP in a continuous circuit in the background instead of music? I believe that if this is possible it will be far better than the Ambient sound tutorials as music does not stop other sounds from playing where ambient sounds do. I would be very interested to know – if it is possible drop me a line: sporb2000@yahoo.co.nz.

21st September 2004: Wolfenstein 3D In Icelandic

Atli has released ‘Wolfenstein 3D In Icelandic’. All the menus’ and the status bar have been converted into the Icelandic language. It’s meant to be played with the full original game and has no new maps, graphics or sounds. Needs the full 60 level 1.4 version of Wolf3D to play.

History – starts in 1896.

In the big country, Gesia, there is a little dump hole called Eisenstein. This little dump has 30 people in population. 10 of them is the Orschtrabthal family. This family houses the dad, Jacob, the mother, Maria and the eight kids, Theodor, Hanz, Franz, Sergei, Thina, Arnold, Engelbrecht and Senvetines. Senventines is the oldest. Born 1879, and he has allways been the outstanding guy. In school, in groups and very unsocial. Afterall, he aren’t very nice to be with.

His lonelyness tickles him very much, but in 1898 he find two of his friends…the only friends he ever had, Max Chaplain and Franz Wergenbauer. Both are on same ages. There wishes are to be a part of the gesian politician party. They can’t, at first they will make a party. And so they do…

Which in september 1918, make the “Gesian Zuperkunft Party”. It is called GZP now. Which is mean “The gesian Zuperkunft party”. Zuperkunft is against militairyplaces will be closed and the youth don’t wanna be in the army. They will make enormous power. All the country should have unleast one weapon. Every men under 16 should now a lot about weapon and army, and everybody will be rich..not rich on that way, but not extremely poor. But something happens.

The 3rd february 1921 the G.Z.P. comes in the politician party. It happens very well. There are three members, Senvetines, Chaplain and Franz. Everything seems to go right on, but it goes downwards..
Two monts later, Chaplain shot a minister, which make the party suspended in 50 years.

After seven years Senvetines goes crazy. In the news in 1928, everybody heard that next year will be economical cool. Talking on movies, colour on movies, cheaper things, more cars and electricity and all that stuff. That makes Senvetines go nuts, and on the 31st of december 1928 at 23:59:59 o’clock he plain a bomb in D’Sataan, the capital which houses 10 millions in population. The bomb is..an not 100% powerful atombomb. Then it goes a bit like..

#:¤#¤KABOOOOM!!!#”@@£$

Midnight, 1st january 1929 Senvetines looses his eye and a round glass pearl comes in instead. From now on, he is called “Glasseye.” His army and stronghold is now not only three men, but 300.000 men. But no, if they won’t join GZP they will be brutal killed. But anyway..they don’t have a life 😛

Glasseye well keeps the town, but the GZlife is different. 10.000 humans are dead now by gas..

9 – Bigtime again. The boss here is the Totenhaus keeper, Johannes Fradz. Easy as..uh…………..Schabbs?!?

EPISODE 3: 1935 – UNION STRIKES

After this solution you wait again…until 1935 where the Gesian land starts to hate Glasseye. After the “Bärchen” in 1934(Another addon) everybody is gone nuts. This is a whole union who involves 140 millions people in danger. Help ’em out, kill weaponguy Jöhn Batzbau. Weird name but kill him anyways.

Episode 3 levels:

10 – Messhall by Night. Slaughted bodies and torture. Here you’ll meet the mutant mod, the executor.

EPISODE 4: 1938 – WARSTART

North from Gesia is Venesia. Steins homeland. Since 1921 the general Wilhelm Petersen wondered about Glasseye. Petersen was the country’s biggest general in 1931 – now they are confrontational enemys. At the 12th of july a couple on the age 70 at a farm working, did get a wonderful shane. The sun was high, and there was 80 degrees, but the shane wasn’t well – it was a bomb. Then one day after the general yells WAR! and so it started. Now Stein still is at Zugspitze, in a big laboratory.

Episode 4 levels:

1 – Born center. Here are executormutants made. They are – nuff said, the only enemy in this episode.
2 – Wartank. Tanks are built here, but not anymore. The mutants have fixed the tanks better, so the war will rages on for probably 150 years.
3 – P.O.W. – Again a dedicated song. To start with, there is officehall and living officers. Get a key, and you’ll come “behind”. Here are a chaos with blood, guts, dead guards, dead mutants and living mutants. This is also called “Hell”.
4 – The spy must Die. Mutants in this level are programmed to only kill you. An old messhall which now is torturechamber. About 100 enemys, i think.
5 – Medlab. Doctors laboratory. Here are only servants and mutants.
6 – Downside. Dark dungeon, only a prison. There are torturechambers.
7 – Dump. Abandoned old castle area, no one is alive. There are only ghosts.
8 – Booooring. Another level which is nearly the same as level 3. This can be called W.O.P. – new music.
9 – Coocoo. The doctor Arnold Schulzer don’t know you’re here, so this must be easy.

EPISODE 5: 1942 – BATTLE RAGES ON…

NOTHING! Completely NOTHING! Can stop Glasseye. He is 63 years old and still waractive. Now 229 million people has been killed in the war, 71 from Gesia but the general isn’t touched at all. Petersen send an atombomb over his hometown Eisenstein, and it blowed away. Glasseye is still not touched. So he must order new weapons at the buffer.

Episode 5 levels:

1 – Weapon Buff. A big place with many weapons and a boss, which is the weaponkeeper. The boss is a Hitler Ghost mod and compelety not “bossed” enough. More in the level is that there are no mutants anymore. And a lots of secrets, of course.
2 – Cargocentral. GZguards and trucks is the only thing you’ll see here. Easy.
3 – Chemical Madness. Servants and guards. Here you’ll get a new order by your Service: The general is near you.
4 – Chemical Experience. Bombs and dead bodies again. Guards are though, still alive, but weak as allways.
5 – Last Chemical. Two mods from the Hitlerghost, two bosses. A chemical guard and the Colonel Eisenberg. Eisenberg is an old chemistry, and difficult.
6 – Battlefield. Now you’re at the battlefield beneath Zugspitze’s borders. Now run, to the underground so you can get to D’Sataans battlefields!
7 – Underground Bloodfield. Mutants are here! Unexpected. But daa, it is the underground!
8 – Midnight Train. You’ll see a truckmod(train) in the underground. Jump on it, and get to D’Sataan. Rest of the level is just like the 7th.
9 – Nothing Special. In D’Sataans battlefields you are now and must take care. A boss isn’t there.
0 – This is floor 0. Sounds aknown, right? This level is dedicated to Tristan van Putten. It’s from the Final Solution. I couldn’t find this level so i cheated me to it. I couldn’t get out of it, so revenge to you, Tristan!

EPISODE 6: 1946 – LAST OUTWAY TO FREEDOM

The battlefield in the capital is very though. You must get in the underground again, but this one is different. It made up in a half year, so the place you’ll come to is a “Underground Totenhaus”. Sound terrif, eh? But notice: The general is in the last level..

Episode 6 levels:

1 – Encounting. A center with machines by officers. Only enemys you’ll see in this level are those guys. Ghosts isn’t there, its the newdays. The levels music is also jazz.
2 – Officehall 6681-946. The last four numbers is the year the war will end. And which year is this?!? Glasseye made it, so what’s his plain?
3 – Wic-a-te-Wah! SURPRISE!! I can’t say a thing about this level. Na.. the biggest things is mutants are here. Not exited? Daw, i’ll keep my mouth shot.
4 – The day after Nightmare. Normal level. Officehall, messhall and torturechamber. GZ’s are in bigger groups here, so get your guns ready.
5 – Enemy around the Corner. Dedicated again. But this fits. The level is difficult, but look at the title. Heh.
6 – L.O.L. SPECIAL EDITION. The first bonus level with new modifies. Afterall, it is in the D’Sataan.
7 – Desolated Dungeons. Dark and scary. Full of ghosts – and guards, for that sake.
8 – Worldreaction. Before the big bloodbath with Glasseye – there is a dedicated song. In level 19 in TFS there is a song called “Lurking” or something. Sounds like somethings gonna happen.
9 – Are you strong enough? Battlefield with pure Gezi’s. Ten minutes after Glasseye cutted Petersen in thousand pieces you’ll came with all your guns to make it absurd for the guy. Technics? No! The level have three rooms. The elevator welcoming, the total big center where 299 guards and Glasseye is, and a elevator jump. So pay attention, boy.
10 – It’s over now. Dedicated to song – Victory. You run out in a big hall full of empty rooms and dead bodies to jump.

– And so it happend. This is kill the Gezi’s. Stein was on many missions until 1973 where he get retired. He died at the age 97 in 2001. Happy ending! This is MY happy ending for this game – not for boyfriends, Avril Lavigne!!

Well, afterall this game was succesfull. My plains are to make ONE game for 1938, 1939 and so on. Perhaps i’ll make a fun modern addon, style with Hotel Romanstein.

If they are, you can also unsubscribe very easily. Your email address will NOT be sold to spammers or abused in any way. This is purely for fun. Thanks. Ian

7th September 2004: Wolf 3D For The TI-83 Calculator

Sam Feichter tells me there’s a version of ‘Wolf 3D’ for the TI-83 calculator. It’s at www.ticalc.org/wolf3d. Also available is a version for ‘Doom’ at www.ticalc.org/doom. The ‘Doom’ screenshots actually look more like ‘Wolf3D!!’. Sam says the calculator costs about $80 in the USA, but if emulators are used this needs both MirageOS (an operating system, downloadable from ticalc.org) and a TI-83+ emulator. Try at Zophar.

This addon for shareware – ‘Hotel Romanstein’ is a cleaned up version of an ‘adult’ one I received a couple years ago and didn’t post. It comes from Wadman (a Mr. Choi from Korea) and has 10 new levels in a hotel setting that are well designed, extensive and quite heavily decorated. Many of the images are new as are the sounds. Although the ‘adult’ images in the earlier version have been removed, there are still some actors’ (such as the SS shown in the final screenshot) who are rather sparingly dressed.

Mr. Choi has a Wolfenstein 3D website at Cafe Daum, though it’s in Korean!!

30th August 2004: The Untold Story Released

Mäx has released his follow up to ‘Sensenmann’. It’s called ‘The Untold Story’ and has 2 episodes at present (both 3 levels + secret). They are both well designed and heavily decorated. The opening level, in a restaurant, features ‘friendly people’ who don’t shoot at you!! Lots of new graphics and sounds. There are many features such as floor/ceiling textures, directional sprites, 9 weapons, rain/snow effects, animated clouds and lightshading. Very atmospheric. The title screen warns that some scenes contain blood, guts and violence!!

30th August 2004: DHWTC Project Update

Ringman and Quickmanexe recently made a number of changes to the DHWTC project vswap, particularly the wall design textures and portraits, and has issued a new set of screenshots. Also, listed below is an estimate of what’s still needed to finish the project:

  • Static object art – 35% (mostly just modifications needed)
  • Maps – 50% about 15 maps out of 30 are done – still need boss levels
  • Enemy edits (just more modifications) – 15%
  • Textures – 85% (all textures are replaced, but there are about 15% that need cleaning up.)
  • Status bar and BJ pic 0% (need to drastically alter BJ’s pic)
  • Sounds and Music – 0% (help probably needed here from a new contributor)
  • Weapon pics – 20%
  • Coding – 90% (Just need to change ceiling colors, and ‘read this’ files and maybe clean up bugs)
  • Title screen/episode graphics/menu graphics, etc. – 0%
  • Story – 65% (main story already planned and summarized, it just needs fleshing out so it can be put in the read this.

We are looking for more people to contribute to the project. It would be preferable to have small contributions from as many people as possible. If they only want to give one thing, they can, or they can stay with the group until the end helping where needed. For anyone interested in helping out or just needing more info, please visit DHWTC Yahoo Group or email Ringman at 1sttriumverate@diplomats.com. You can also private message Ringman at the DHW Forums.

29th August 2004: The Rise Of Hitler Demo Released

Here’s a 5 level demo by Kyo Kusanagi called ‘The Rise Of Hitler’. It’s basically 5 new levels for ‘Spear Resurrection’ as it uses the SR code and most of it’s images. The levels are fairly well designed and decorated though nowhere near as extensive as in SR. Updated Sept 13 with an 18 level final version. Needs the full ‘Spear Resurrection’ to play.

29th August 2004: Weapons Of Vengeance 3 Released

27th August 2004: Spear Doomsday Update

Here’s an email from ZuljinRaynor: “Spear Doomsday is finally under main production, coding is almost finished and then graphics will go with the flow while maps are being made.

One minor note about the coding: Internal EndArts are causing me trouble. I will attempt to implement that at the beginning of the level there is a Mission Obj’s screen and then when you collect journals, press “J” has to open a new menu (Like a menu screen) that lets you pick a journal you have found. You don’t have it, then the entries are “???.” The regular F1 will not open HelpArt but the missions OBJ’s so you can refresh. (Most floors will be just find the exit, while other floors are special). So I will have 2 types of Internal Articles so I need help in this.” ZuljinRaynor’s site is at ZuljinRaynor’s Troll City.

26th August 2004: Dead Reckoning Storyline

Here’s a storyline done by Kev Reid for his upcoming set ‘Dead Reckoning’ (Zombenstein):

“A benevolent force has recently been released on the planet and it’s up to Jawn to put it right (since he let it out in the first place). The evil emanating from a subterranean pit has begun reanimating fresh corpses turning the countryside into a wasteland of wandering not-so-dead. Play as Jawn, a local bloke and re-kill all the dead so they can finally rest in peace (or pieces). Then pursue the retreating evil deep into its pit of despair and put an end to whatever you let out once and for all. Battle evil armies of eerily cunning Zombies and Skeletons with your arsenal of improvised weaponry (includes a thermic laser and a heavy calibre magnum). Then destroy the pit from whence all hell rose forever.”

Sound good ??? then contact – Sporb2000@yahoo.co.nz – to receive a description and watch for a DEMO on the Dome soon (with the 1st 10 levels).

25th August 2004: Image World Update

Here’s an email received today from Majik Monkee: “Due to circumstances beyond my control, the Image World will still not be accepting new submissions for at least the beginning of September. For all of you who have submitted graphics during the past month, I assure you that they will be placed on the site as soon as possible. To those of you who are loyal visitors to the site, I apologize that I have not been able to update it more frequently, but some personal problems and a very busy schedule lately have prevented me from doing any web editing lately. Also, server space remains an issue, though not as bad as before.

For the time being, I ask that folks not send me any more graphics until I post otherwise (either here or on the site itself). I already have quite a few on hand waiting to be posted, and if I get anymore, there is a chance I will misplace or overlook some of them when I get around to putting them up.

To all fans of the site, thanks for your patience. I assure you the site is not dead, and I promise to resume the updates as soon as possible. If you would like to email me regarding the site, or would like me to simply review a submission you have done, feel free to email me at: dhw_majik_monkee@yahoo.com Thanks!

Here’s an email I received from Justin: “First of all my pc crashed so my Swat 2 stuff is all gone. I might complete it another time. As for Op. Assassination, it’s still delayed. In the meantime I’m thinking about making 2 Max Payne TC’s – Max Payne and Max Payne 2: No Payne No Gayne. The first one will be used with SOD and the sequel will be used with the Wolf demo. They’ll take place right after each other. In the first one, you’re trying to find the man who killed your wife. It turns out to be an Italian mobster (Jack Lapino). When you kill him, the game ends. 17th February 2004: Nuclear Assassination Announced

Jonathan Storey is currently making two Wolf3D expansion packs. One is called “Nuclear Assassination”, the other undecided. They are not typical addons – Jonathan aims to put them across as natural expansions to the Wolf3D story (not Spear or The Lost Episodes).

Both will have the magic expansion formula – some new entities, but retaining the original game atmosphere. There will be some new wall textures, sprites, sounds, a new title screen and expertly crafted new levels. There will be no source code changes.

The new wall textures have been gathered from various sources on the internet, including the The Wolf3D Dome (thanks a lot for these). Some sprites and sounds have been taken from Spear and The Lost Episodes as well.

Both expansions will be using Shareware Wolf3D as a base, since 10 levels seems like a good size for a seemingly proper expansion pack. Nuclear Assassination should be finished in a couple of months.
