It's a series of relatively short maps using mostly the original game's graphics and sounds, to feel like an extension of Wolfenstein 3D, with a focus on tight, fast-moving gameplay over fancy features or storytelling. The "coffee break" part comes from the fact that these are short maps you can beat in under ten minutes. Vista/Windows 7-compatible.

The default is that you walk slowly, which means the guards won't hear you. You can still walk faster, using SHIFT, but this increases the chance that guards will hear you. The game itself is a 21-level Spear of Destiny mod. The purposely-crude graphics are augmented with new music (from Spear of Dreams SE) and sounds, and a snazzy green (and familiar) status bar, but the overall effect is of a project done with some care. 25th December 2012: Beyond Mutantstein SE Anniversary Edition Released
'Beyond Mutantstein SE Anniversary Edition 2002-2012' released!
This is the (tenth) anniversary edition of Beyond Mutantstein Special Edition, the tribute game to John Bucksnort released on 25 December 2002.
A decade has now passed and with SoD/Wolf3D being 20 years old, John's mods still remain usual favourites or -in the worst case- true referents of a very distinctive style of modding.
In spite of the various modifications that were made upon the original tribute set (primarily involving some minor code and graphic tweaks), this product should be seen, mainly, as a new set of maps to our decade-old mod.
This 10-year anniversary consists of 19 levels involving 18 different mappers (quite possibly and unprecedentedly large number of different architects in a single mod?). It was basically decided that priority should be given to those who worked on the first Beyond Mutantstein Special Edition back in 2002 (and who were still present in the scene or otherwise reachable), to the remaining Bucksnorts, and then to the more experienced/advanced mappers in the community. Hopefully the end result will have been to your satisfaction and, as said by someone involved in the original mod released back in 2002, something that John would have been proud of.
Hopefully you will enjoy this tribute game to John Bucksnort!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of you and your beloved ones.
Vista/Windows 7-compatible.

This build comes with all of the game's various songs in OGG format (converted from MIDI to IMF to OGG), and thus is MUCH larger than the original release file. This build is suggested only for those who either prefer the original IMF-esq format of the game's music or for those who experience the music-crashing bug frequently, otherwise, Metalor suggests that players should not bother with this build.

In the spirit of the Halloween season, and thanks to lots of hard work by Andy Nonymous, Majik Monkee is pleased to present medEvil, now in SDL (and DOS) format. For the most part, the mod mirrors the original. Certain maps that had traps placed in such a way that they were impossible for a player to avoid have been edited to make the game less frustrating, but the overall challenge remains (enemy and key placement has not changed). For those unfamiliar with the mod, it follows the story of a brave warrior on a journey through a monster ridden castle on a mission to destroy an evil vampire and his hideous minions. Ranged magical weapons are abundant, but the sword (melee weapon) is strong enough to be a viable combat option against most enemies. Enjoy!

31st August 2011: Schabbs 3000 Update Coming Soon
Ling Yan Li has sent the following update regarding Schabbs 3000:
"I'm releasing an updated version of Schabbs 3000. It should be available sometime soon. Sorry to have held it so long, but I've received a lot of people complaining that the game crashes on higher difficulty levels. Therefore I've increased the allowed number of guards per level back to 150. Cause originally I had it at 125 and when people complained that the game crashes when having more than 125 guards since many people didn't know the allowed number of guards limit. There are some completely new levels, while others are slightly modified levels from the old version of Schabbs 3000. I've also added some extra code changes to it as well, such as changing some of the enemies' behaviour, and made bosses stronger. Right now I only have 3 more levels to re-design."

25th May 2011: 1945 The End Of The Third Reich Updated
Penguindog55 has updated '1945 The End Of The Third Reich'. Finding the secret areas in the levels have been made easier by marking them all in some way, either with wall decoration or putting a skeleton nearby or in front of a secret wall that doesn't have a wall decoration. Also, Hans Gross and Uber Mutants no longer guard the access to Super secret levels. It was felt unfair to make it so hard to find secrets and to have to fight a boss in a confined space. Only the maps have been changed at this time, the graphics and coding remain as in the earlier version released March 12.

6th April 2010: New WOLF3D Total Conversion
Here's an email I received today: "Hello, this is Ryan Steinbruner, (aka wolf3d_boy/xgthug). I am e-mailing you to announce my final Wolf3D mod, titled "KILL HTG!". It takes a much faster 'action-wolf' type approach, in that it is to be a lot more fast paced. It will include an all original soundtrack and set of graphics.
The project is a stand-alone total conversion, and was supposed to be only a one night project, but I ran into some coding issues and halted progress.
Most of the graphics and music are done, and I would like to finish this TC within the next few days, as I had not intended to invest much time into it.
I am looking for someone to do the source code for me. Very simple additions, most of which are found in the DHW tutorials. Full credit will be given to the coder, and all tutorials used for the project.
My e-mail is Paramultart@gmail.com, so please e-mail me if you are interested.
Also, the previously abandoned project, Monster Bash 3D, is planned to be finished and released within this month. I have already contacted Adam Biser, and he is still interested in the project, and thankfully, he has retained the source code throughout the 6 years since we started the project.
Thank you
- Ryan Steinbruner".

Foxenstein is an upcoming TC by Alex. The title comes from his nickname 'The Silver Fox'. Source code changes include four keys, destructable columns and barrels, a few new enemies, seven weapons, shading and textured flats. The last two features are optional, because they make it difficult to play on slow machines and/or DosBox.
Alex tried to make most levels huge and quite complicated, and he hopes they are challenging enough. Most graphics were taken from original Wolf (and some from other TCs), so the game keeps the original Wolfenstein atmosphere - at least if you disable textured flats and shading. The storyline is just like that of episode 3 of original Wolfenstein. Alex is looking for beta testers as a beta version will be ready soon.
